RPAS Advanced Operations Course

The RPAS Advanced Operations Course prepares pilots for higher-risk, professional drone operations conducted in controlled airspace and complex environments across Canada.

This course builds directly on RPAS Basic knowledge and expands your understanding of regulatory compliance, airspace integration, operational planning, and safety management, all essential for real-world commercial RPAS work.

You will develop advanced knowledge in:

• Controlled and restricted airspace operations

• ATC interaction and aviation communication awareness

• Advanced flight planning and risk mitigation

• Operational decision-making and compliance

• Professional standards expected of Advanced RPAS pilots

Training Pathway & Course Inclusions

To support a clear and efficient progression, 4DUAV structures training so you never pay twice for required knowledge:

• RPAS Advanced Operations includes full access to the RPAS Basic Operations Course

• Level 1 Complex Operations includes full access to both RPAS Basic and RPAS Advanced courses

This ensures every pilot receives the complete knowledge foundation required for higher-level operations, operator certification, and future pathways such as Level 1 Complex, BVLOS, and RPOC programs.

Training is structured, aviation-grade, and designed to prepare you for real operations, not just an exam.
